La Mariposa Day Care is a bilingual family day care home in Alameda. We are licensed by the California Department of Social Services to operate a Family Child Care Home with a maximum capacity of 12 children.

The center is run by Carmen Aguilar. Originally from Mazatlan, Mexico, Carmen has lived in Alameda for 19 years and has raised 3 children on The Island. She has a 4 year degree in preschool education from Mexico and has studied early childhood education at local colleges. Carmen has worked at child care centers in the area and has been running her own daycare since 2018.
